An Assorted Soupcon of Sunday Miscellany.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I’ve been missing for a bit. That’s what happens when life (and the wife) gets a truckload of firewood dumped on ya a week before the weather decides to turn your basement into a swimming pool and your mud-and-gravel driveway into the Okefenokee swamp! Ya gotta love the fact that in two weeks, we will go from sub-freezing to 63 degrees at 9:30 at night (right now) to sub-freezing by Monday. No wonder the weather guys are clueless around here! 🙂

But there are a couple of things I do want to tell y’all. Rarasaur is running the “Company for Christmas” thing this year. So if you know of someone who will be without family this Christmas, or if you want to be available for anybody who needs some company (or if you just want to hang with some really fun folk!), head on over to Company For Christmas.

And the other? Well, I just want to wish all of you, whether you comment on or just read (and for some strange reason, actually LIKE) the crazy stuff I come up with, I wish all of you the very happiest of whatever holiday you celebrate. So whether it’s Christmas or Kwanzaa to come, Hanukkah or Saturnalia just passed, or just some of the wonderful and wacky marathons various TV stations will be running, have a VERY happy and joyful one! (And I promise a lot more content, starting this week, so stay tuned, and thanks for hanging in there with me! 😀 )

Happy holidays, John. Hope you and your family have a great one, and a great year to follow!

  2. tom says:

Merry Christmas to you and yours. May visions of fire wood dance in you head.

  3. whiteladyinthehood says:

I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday!

  4. benzeknees says:

BTW Merry Christmas to you & your family too!

  5. aFrankAngle says:

    Merry Christmas to Team Erickson!

    • “Team Erickson”. Hmm. A guy who throws WORSE than a girl, and a girl with legs half as long as normal. You might just want to reconsider us for the company softball team. Just sayin’…. 😀
And the merriest of everything to Angle, Inc.! :p 😉

  6. H.E. ELLIS says:

Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas, JE!

    • Hey there! Good to see ya, H. E.! Yeah, I know, I’ve been a stranger lately. Gonna try to correct that in the New Year. But until then, thanks for the birthday wishes, and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  7. BrainRants says:

Dear lord – another birthday? Do you even know how old you are? Or will you have to take a core sample?

    • Like I said to Benze, I’m an old fart getting older and fartier by the minute. I’m beyond core samples – even the carbon-dating is starting to run out. Guess I’ll have to find out what works beyond that – radioactive decay of hydrogen? (After all, the only things universal are hydrogen and stupidity. And me…. 😯 )

  8. rarasaur says:

🙂 Thanks for spreading the word on C4C, John. You. Are. Awesome. *hugs* Merry Christmas to you and yours!

    • Aw, I ain’t so awesome as all that. But you COULD call me quite the “card” … hint, hint ….. 😉
(Would it help if I tell you that I have two stuffed reindeer named Percy and Chauncy? I figure at this point, it can’t hurt – considering the other three I have are named Rupert, Rutger, and Rutherford. 😯 )

  9. That’s a great thought during this Season for Giving isn’t it? Spending time with folks who don’t have company.

    Merry Christmas.

    • It’s often the little things that mean so much. Taking a few hours, as a kid, to go to a Veterans’ Hospital and sing Christmas carols doesn’t take much, but the looks on the vets’ faces is beyond value. That’s why I volunteered last year and this.
And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours, and thank you VERY much for following me and commenting. Welcome!

  10. fasab says:

A little late, but Happy Birthday! You seem to be having one of these every year now, slow down.

    • I’ve gotta get a dog. I’m so far into dog withdrawal, I’m starting to age like one. Seriously, I feel a full 7 years older than this time last year! (Then again, maybe I’ll get to Social Security that much faster! 😀 )
